We all love to get lost in a good movie, usually stopping us from thinking about the boredom of our own lives. Did you ever stop to think about what they actually cost to make though, or would it just depress you a little more? Back when Tobey Maguire was still playing the web-slinger and Kirsten Dunst his love interest, the 2004 Spider-Man 2 cost quite a bit of money. $259 million, to be exact. It’s not all bad news though, as the movie ended up grossing a massive $780 million at the box office making it one of the biggest of all time. This one was a welcome upgrade to the first, which by today’s standards is downright dodgy, so at least the cash was worth it.
