It was only last week that we discovered Jane Fonda is 80-years-old. Can you believe it? Us neither. Although she’s been around for years, she has a youthful exuberance about her. It’s enviable. Her father may be the one and only Henry Fonda, but Jane has paved her own way in Hollywood. Starring in cheesy classics such as Barbarella to the more serious On Golden Pond, everybody on earth knows Jane Fonda. Not such a bad legacy to leave, right? Additionally, she’s also a lifelong political activist, protesting the Vietnam War and fighting for women’s rights. Fonda was, in fact, an activist long before many others were.

15. Jane in Fun With Dick and Jane

A lot of movies in history have remakes we’d like to forget, and Fun with Dick and Jane is one of them. We don’t like to think about the 2005 version with Jim Carey. It just makes us sad. On the other hand, the original that stars Jane Fonda and George Segal is a fun cultural comedy of the American way of life. Dick and Jane are a couple who want more out of life; they want the picket fence and the big house. And the only way they can think to get that is to submit to a life of crime. Sound idea, we think. I mean, at least before smartphones existed.
