Carl Reiner is an entertainment legend if there ever was one, and depending on who you talk to he's best known as the co-star of the legendary television show "The Show of Shows", the creator and co-star of the "Dick Van Dyke Show", as the interviewer and comic foil to Mel Brooks in "The 2,000 Year Old Man" or as a  películas con acclaimed film director. He also happens to be director Rob Reiner's father and the husband of jazz singer Estelle Reiner. He's had his fingers in a lot of pies over the course of an entertainment career that stretches back all the way to the 1940s with a start on the Broadway stage. Here are 15 of Carl Reiner's most memorable performances over the course of a career that's far exceeded a half century.

15. Happy Anniversary

Imagine finding out that a married couple was -wait for it- sexually active BEFORE THEY GOT MARRIED! This, of course, is the absolute norm these days but back in 1959 the idea of pre-marital sex was taboo enough that it could fuel an entire movie. Such is the case with “Bud, Happy Anniversary” in which Carl Reiner plays Bud, a friend to Chris and Alice Walters, the married couple and key characters in the film, and Chris Walter’s business partner. Reiner’s character spends the majority of his scenes in the movie trying to seduce Jeanette (Monique Van Loren), a spinster who’s been divorced four times.
