James Cromwell got to play William Randolph Hearst, a newspaper tycoon in the film RKO 281. His role earned him an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Television Movie. In the movie William does everything in his power to ensure Orson Wells Film which is a biography does not see the light of day. His efforts include canceling advertisements of the film in newspapers. However, the film gets a lot of attention and it plays a huge role in dethroning William and the ruler of the media dynasty.
