15. Starr was knighted by Prince William in 2018
A full 21 years after Paul McCartney became Sir Paul, and 53 years after the Beatles received their MBE from Queen Elizabeth II, Ringo Starr was knighted by Prince William in 2018. Although he joked that he would wear his honors “for breakfast,” Starr admitted that he was very pleased and that the award meant more to him than he was able to express.
