15 Greatest Keith Richards Songs

Posted in Entertainment on Jan 17th, 2019

Born in 1943 in Dartford, England, Keith Richards came of age just in time for the British invasion of American rock and roll. The less flamboyant but more famously hard-partying member of the Rolling Stones has had not only a long career as a guitarist for what became "The World's Greatest Rock & Roll Band," but is a vocalist and songwriter in his own right, with several solo albums and another on the way in 2018. While some of his best works may not be the more recognizable tunes from the Stones, and his solo work wasn't as successful as bandmate and frontman Mick Jagger's, Richards has built a collection of music that highlights his talent and soul in a way few others have.

15. How I Wish (from "Talk is Cheap")

The song is full of energy, but its lyrics and the growling, soulful vocals from Richards speaks of a more wistful emotion heard even more prominently in his ballads. It is a masterpiece of musicianship with the Neville Brothers’ Ivan Neville on piano and The E Street Band’s Patti Scialfa on backing vocals.
