Mission: Impossible originally started off as a TV series on CBS in 1966 and lasted until 1973. It was revived on ABC a few years later but only for a brief time. Fortunately, Tom Cruise enjoyed the show so much he made it possible for it to come to become a film on the big screen starring himself as Ethan Hunt.
